While editing or modifying Word documents, some users prefer to use Ctrl+Z or the undo arrow to undo a previous operation. This is a very convenient way to return the document to its previous state. However, this method has a limited number of undo operations. Therefore, restoring the last saved version of a file is the preferred method.

Restore the Word document.
Click the File menu in the upper left corner, the window will opened as in the previous image. See the document Management section, which lists all automatically saved file versions that are sorted by save time.
